Review: Boutique Sport ‘After Dark’ Pop-Up Running Club

It’s cold and dark but with London Marathon penned in our diaries we’re on the lookout for anything that will stop us from sacking off our training runs in favour of a warm dry pub. So we donned our thermals and made our way to Piccadilly Circus for the launch of Boutique Sport’s free ‘After Dark’ Run Club (lured by the promise of some free nibbles!)

The pop up run club, hosted by the girls from Boutique Sport HQ, runs every Monday at 6.30pm from the 29 October until the 3 December. Here’s a rundown of what to expect…

What they say… social and motivational, ladies only, running group

“A 7k after dark adventure around Hyde Park, taking in night time views of the city within the safety of a social and motivational, ladies only, running group.”

What we say… we’ll be back!

We love a pop up and this one is strictly guest list only – so make you get your name on the list in advance.

We met at 6.30pm at Whole Foods Market in Piccadilly Circus (obviously drooling over the prospect of spending a small fortune on food when we got back).  Despite the rain there was a decent turnout, over 30 of us braved the weather.

We were taken through a quick warm-up before heading off on a 7km run around Hyde Park led by the lovely and exceptionally bouncy Personal Trainer Lucy Howlett. It was a good excuse to run a new route, meet some lovely people and have a natter on the way. This is a great one for all abilities, with break-out groups taken by different personal trainers.

The route finished back at Whole Foods for nibbles which, being greedy, we thought was a fabulous idea. After the run we hung out upstairs in the Whole Foods Market Café for a natter and a perv on some of the new kit from Aussie activewear brand Lorna Jane. Keep an eye on our ‘Gear’ section for some of our favourites.
