Does your New Year’s resolution involve getting filthy in 2020? Then sign up for this trail running session from natural sports nutrition company TRIBE.

Suitable for both those who are new to off-road running and more experienced trail runners who want to pick up a few tips, it’s a guided 10-12km social run through the beautiful surrounds of Epping Forest. Led by trail running experts Claudi and Matt from We are Daybreak, there’ll be advice about techniques and gear given out along the way and a trip to the pub after.

This session is the first in three, there’s another on Hampstead Heath on 25 Jan focusing on hills and one on the North Downs way on 8 Feb

The sessions lead up to a TRIBE trail running race in the South Downs on 22 Feb, but you don’t need to be attending the race to take part. All sessions cost just £3 which is donated to TRIBE Freedom Foundation to help fight modern slavery.

Tread out of Time is a small company offering creative tours of London and each month they have a free running club exploring new areas of the city. We haven’t been to one of these runs yet but they sound fun.

This month, the social 10km (ish) run will take you through the Borough of Camden, exploring the history behind some of the area’s famous music venues.

If you’re doing Veganuary or looking at eating more plant-based meals, this educational evening could prove useful. Nutritionist, health journalist and model Sarah Ann Macklin will be discussing the pros and cons of a vegan diet and how to approach one and there’s the opportunity to ask your own questions after.

Group fitness gurus Les Mills have a new 30-minute exercise class out called CXWORX. It’s designed to help boost running performance – apparently research shows doing it three times a week can take over a minute off your 5km time – and this is your chance to try it for free.

The Les Mills team are heading down to London City Runners Clubhouse in Bermondsey (if you haven’t been yet, it’s a cool bar under the railway arches). After a 3km warm-up run you’ll be led through the class which works on core strength, running symmetry and moves to help prevent injury

There’s a goody bag for all attendees, containing resistance bands and a free trial of Les Mills on-demand so you can continue the work outs at home. Sounds good, may well sign up.

Looking for fun ways to meet up with friends that don’t involve the pub? You can’t beat Disco Yoga. It’s my birthday this month and I wanted to go to one of their monthly brunches but alas, it’s a week too late. Doesn’t stop you going though.

Basically you glitter up and then shimmy, bend and flow away to disco classics like Stayin’ Alive and Kung Fu Fightin’. There’s a live DJ, optional fancy dress (spandex is encouraged) and maybe even a bit of freestyling.

We haven’t actually been up the Shard before so this sounds good. Frame are hosting a yoga brunch at the Shangri-La Hotel. 

Your ‘Rise and Shine’ yoga class will take place in the sky lounge on level 34 with amazing views across London. Then it’s time to tuck into a healthy brunch with loads of Veganuary-friendly options. To finish there’s a masterclass with experts from Neal’s Yard Remedies showing you how to create a bespoke facial oil.
