She’s passionate about running, has a degree in dance, competed in two British Rowing National Championships, is an elite Personal Trainer, a Nike Trainer, advises on nutrition… and she’s bloody gorgeous too. We really want to hate Kezia but we can’t, yep, she’s nice as well. Makes you sick.

Trainer: Kezia Lopez, personal trainer and Nike trainer
Favourite exercise: Burpees up steps!  (This sounds horrendous. Maybe we could learn to hate Kezia after all! L&L)
Training tune: Swedish House Mafia- Atom/ Leave the World Behind is my power song. It makes me do those extra reps or run that extra couple of miles and run them faster!
Training mantra: ‘Pain is temporary, quitting lasts forever’
Top training tip: Forget the ‘all or nothing’ approach, success results from consistent effort

Screen shot 2013-10-14 at 14.19.39I’ve always been passionate about health and fitness. I studied Dance and Culture at the University of Surrey and I rowed at a competitive level for the Mediterranean Rowing Club in my home country, Gibraltar.

I knew I wanted to work in the fitness industry but Gibraltar is a small place, so after working at 5* health clubs there I left to pursue a career as an Elite Personal Trainer in London. I’d always seen London as a world of opportunities and thought I would discover what it had in store for me. I completed my Personal Trainer course at The Training Room, Covent Garden, and that’s when the real journey began!

As well as Personal Training I specialise in gym-based boxing, circuits, spinning and nutrition and am a Nike instructor teaching Nike Training Club Sessions in Regent’s Park and Nike Covent Garden. Working with Nike I’ve been involved in lots of exciting projects including training journalists, stylists and editors during London Fashion Week, warming up a crowd of 5,000 women for the Nike We Own the Night 10km run, and teaching sessions on the ME Hotel Roof Terrace for Grazia magazine.

But for me, the best thing about my job is the thrill I get from training other people, sharing my love of training with them and helping them achieve their goals. My day wouldn’t be fulfilled without training, It’s one of those things that’s always on my “To do list” and the sense of accomplishment after a tough session makes my day much better. I love to see others reach their goals and enjoy it too. One of my clients was new to running and asked me to train her for the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon. After being able to run no more than 2km, in less than two months we ran around the rock of Gibraltar (10km), I think I was as pleased with as she was!
