We have a place in London’s newest half marathon, Run Hackney, to give away. It takes you through the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park you know!
‘In 2012, when the world’s eyes were focused on stunning sporting achievements on our doorstep, we set out to create an event where people could tread in the footsteps of great athletes and celebrate their own achievements.’
Cllr Feryal Demirci, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, Hackney Council
There’s always something special about running in your home city, which is why we’re pretty excited about London’s newest half marathon, Run Hackney. Taking place on 22 June, the fast and flat route starts and finishes at Hackney Marshes, takes you through the closed streets of the borough and, pretty excitingly, you also run through the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Very cool. We’re going to pretend we’re Tiki Gelana.
Around 10,000 runners are expected to sign up (and, as this is the first year, it should be much easier to get a spot than in some of London’s other 13.1 mile events such as The Royal Park’s Half). We’re in, are you? Register at runhackney.com Earlybird prices of £37 are available until 24 February, £42 after.
