This Saturday is a celebration of all things awesome about women. And as part of this celebration, fitness bloggers Bangs from Spikes & Heels and Elle of Run Like Elle have organised a run, yay! The four-mile route takes in three locations linked to inspirational women in our fair city. It ain’t a race, it ain’t about going fast, it’s all about hanging with the girls. Find out more here.

Get those final long marathon runs in and practice your race day fuelling and pacing with an organised race. The Human Race Whole Foods Market Breakfast Run, 23 March, Kingston-upon-Thames has 8.2 mile and 16.2 mile runs complete with pacers. The super-friendly Surrey Spitfire 20, 16 March, possibly my all-time favourite race, takes you through the Surrey countryside and round the Top Gear test track (there’s a 10 mile option too). At Cranleigh in Surrey, 16 March, you can choose a 15 or 21 mile run can you believe it snowed all the way round for us last year?!

The women’s health and fitness festival, previously known as The Vitality Show, has rebranded.  There’ll be the usual stalls hawking fitness and lifestyle brands (always good for a bargain and a few free healthy food samples though) as well as loads of classes including BOOM cycle, HIITgirl, Nike Training Club and Shockwave by Equinox, all of which we can recommend. Plus talks and Q&As with BE:FIT ambassadors Victoria Pendleton and Denise Lewis.

We’re so excited about this we could wee! Our favourite highstreet brand is launching a 20-piece sportswear line based on designs for the Adidas Originals archives. We’re sure it’s going to sell out in nano-seconds but one of those vests will be ours! These are all the images available at the mo but we’re hoping for some snazzy leggings too. Sign up here to be the first to know when the collection drops.

Come and join Charlotte in the Sport Relief Swimathon, the UK’s largest swimming fundraising event. With around 600 pools in the country hosting events there’s bound to be one near you. Choose from a 1.5k, 2.5k or 5k swim, relay or individual distance (ie, if you’re just learning to swim you could choose to swim 400m). Entries are just £11 for adults and there is no minimum fundraising target #swimathon #blogsquad

Lululemon Athletica opening
28 March TBC, Covent Garden

Screen shot 2014-03-06 at 11.42.06
They’ve got London showrooms offering limited stock at the moment, but the first full-on Lululemon shop in Europe is opening in Covent Garden this month. Oh, yes! The Canadian sportswear brand may be pricey but it lasts forever and is seriously good quality. We’re a little bit in love with their Run Swiftly tops.

Know of anything cool occurring in March? Share the love and email the deets to charlotte@lungesandlycra.co.uk Merci
