Gear of the Week: Gym Junk

A vague hint of hipster, a whiff of surf and the faint aroma of sweat stained gym, British active wear brand Gym Junk give damn good hoody.

Don’t know about you but while our workout gear is all fancy trainers, patterned leggings and hi-tech fabrics, the stuff we throw on to leave the gym is… well, pretty damn rotten.

Flared tracksuit bottoms with a massive hole in the bum, a hoody with bleach on the front and a bottle green sweatshirt bearing the name of a club in Kavos, these are just some of the horrors lurking in our post-workout stockpile.

Which is why we are loving Gym Junk. Trackie bottoms and hoodies that don’t look like you should be pulling moody teenage wheelies on your BMX, you can wear these beauties to the gym, to the shops, to a dance class, even to the pub without fear of embarrassment. Plus they have a number of vest tops that are perfect for yoga and have just the right amount of ‘not trying to be cool, I just am’ going on.

Founded by two school friends Luke and Peter, who’ve always been into sport, fitness and fashion, one of the great things about Gym Junk is it does its bit for charidee too. 30p from every order goes towards one of four charities – you get to choose which one. And the colour of the charity you choose is the colour of the bag your Gym Junk comes in. Good that eh?

Prices start from £15 for a vest so it’s definitely on the right side of reasonable. Personally we’ve got our eye on the spin crew black tee, you wouldn’t get us in those knickers though. No way.
